At Cambridge Home School Online, we teach a well-rounded I GCSE Sociology curriculum. Our MA/MSc/PhD qualified teachers focus on helping students develop a strong, clear understanding of sociological terms, concepts, theories, practices, approaches, thinkers, and lenses. Students become capable of working on complex and diverse problems related to human societies.

We also walk students through different historical sociological contexts, enabling them to connect past approaches and methodologies to contemporary sociology. Students develop an excellent understanding and awareness of contemporary cultural, political, and social issues. They learn how to resolve these problems in an effective, analytical, systematic, and rigorous manner.

Societies and trends are constantly changing. Nothing is fixed; fluidity is found in even the most mundane and predictable of tasks and patterns. Students learn to identify this state of flux and use the right approach accordingly. A one-size-fits-all solution simply doesn’t exist. If students attempt to create generalisations, they can easily overlook the complexity and diversity of modern societies, connections, and pathways. We ensure that our I GCSE Sociology students remain cognisant of this state of change.

Students become confident, critical sociological learners and thinkers who understand a range of social theories, methods of research, key debates, and emerging perspectives. Using their knowledge and skills, they secure top grades in their examinations and achieve even greater academic success in university.



We offer a range of assessments during our live lessons. These include summative tests, worksheets, pop quizzes, group activities, and more. Using these assignments, our teachers assess each student’s skills and knowledge.


Homework is given at the end of each week. Students get a chance to polish their skills and cover more ground. We plan homework around a range of different topics and subtopics, taking special care to cover everything in the syllabus.



Parents are given 24/7 access to their children’s coursework. We also maintain an open line of communication between parents and teachers to ensure complete transparency. Additionally, we hold 3 parent-teacher consultations each year, one in every term. Parents can also set up consultations with teachers at mutually convenient times.

Course Outline

Students are taught an expertly curated 2-year programme. They complete a range of activities that help build their confidence, skills, knowledge, and creative interest. We explore formal elements and connect students to the work of artists. We also take a closer look at the overarching themes of history, culture, and expression that are associated with art. Students participate in group activities, complete group projects, and create standalone artworks during this critical stage of their artistic growth and development journey.

Meet The Teacher

Dr Rehman is a highly experienced sciology teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience at IGCSE, A Level. Friendly and patient, she communicates requirements most effectively and in a way that is inspiring and very enjoyable to learn. Grades in her class are considerably higher than those expected in most schools.
